In the interest of keeping y'all informed, the Kingfish and some champions of working class Louisianans have compiled a list of the town halls that our Republican elected officials are hosting throughout Louisiana over the next week. If you know of any that are not on this list, or you have the details of one that we know of, but haven't been able to nail down, please let me know in the comments, or you can email me at ryan at dailykingfish dot com.

What I'm wondering is if the Sinning Senator and his Republican friends will allow the following:

  • Anyone to enter the Town Hall
  • UNSCREENED questions from the floor
  • Supporters of President Obama's health care reform plan to speak without being shouted down or derided

I got a robocall today... (4.00 / 1)
inviting me to Vitter's Lafayette forum. I subscribe to Charisma magazine (I am a Christian, but NOT an indoctrinated cultic wingnut... I subscribe for cult research purposes) so I get a lot of calls, snail mails, emails, etc. from Religious Right groups as well as from Republican lawmakers and candidates.  I'm not registered in any party and lean Democratic so it's not like I'm otherwise on some Republican list.  So I wonder if that's why I got the call inviting me to that forum... did Vitter buy Charisma's list?  BTW, the recording said that it was at 4:30 Monday, not 2.

Thanks for the update ... (0.00 / 0)
It has been changed.

When is Landreau's Townhall Meeting? Oh yeah, she isn't having one... (0.00 / 0)
What I'm wondering is if the Sinning Senator and his Republican friends will allow the following:

I was curious to see the questions posted at the end of this notice. While I am no fan of the "Sinning Senator" (LOL), why is there no comment about the fact that Mary Landreau clearly lacks the courage to even hold a townhall meeting, which should say a lot about what she thinks of the plan under discussion.

Perhaps another post here has referenced this obvious lack of conviction and fear of public embarrassment on Landreau's part. If the plan were worth defending, she should have a meeting for the sake of exposing the "crazies" that have been turning out for GOP townhalls. I went to Cassidy's meeting in Ascension on Monday and nobody screened those attending on the way in. We were invited to list our contact info, but it wasn't required.

Aren't you more interested to hear Landreau's defense of the plan than the predictable GOP dismissal of it??

Since you're new ... (0.00 / 0)
I'll you the benefit of the doubt ...

I've constantly attacked Senator Landrieu for her lack of a spine when it comes to health care reform.  Many political operatives that do not owe their careers to Senator Landrieu have told me that she is spineless, and afraid of the Republican attack machine.
