I should also note that the press has been heavily biased in the favor of the GOPers running, barely mentioning that there is a Democrat in the race, and even when they do, they diss Gilda.
For instance, when describing the websites of the contenders for the seat, the Times-Pic's Cindy Chang makes fun of the fact that Gilda's website mentions that she was interviewed by a reporter for the Times Picayune. Of course, she omits the very salient fact that the reporter was her. Further, she just mentions the layout of one GOP candidate, and the marker for another. Why not mention the lack of information on the GOPer sites? Could it be that Ms. Chang is biased toward the GOP candidates? I wonder ...
I've been hearing from Democratic activists in LA-01 that Ms. Reed's signs are being vandalized all over the district - in the West End of New Orleans, and in Tangipahoa Parish, two signs on Hwy 22 and Hwy 51, both on private property were broken down. Now, I've worked on numerous campaigns, and I've seen signs from public property torn down, but never have I heard about signs being torn down from PRIVATE property. Such acts are a felony, and I am very surprised that such actions are occurring. I just hope and pray that no GOP officials or candidates are behind such these pathetic, yet criminal actions.
