LA-Sen: Making Sinning Senator Vitter Pay For Playing Politics

by: ryan

Mon May 11, 2009 at 14:11:46 PM CDT

I described in detail on Friday how Sinning Senator Vitter is playing politics with his hold on FEMA nominee Craig Fugate.

Well, this weekend, former Republican State Rep. Chris Tidmore appeared on the Rachel Maddow show to explain what exactly the Sinning Senator is doing placing the hold on Mr. Fugate a mere three weeks prior to hurricane season:

But we're not done yet ... that segment just hits Vitter's reputation nationally. The DSCC just put out a web video to raise cash on the audacity shown by the Sinning Senator in his attempt to raise campaign cash on his hold of FEMA nominee Craig Fugate ... potentially imperiling millions of Americans who live in hurricane-prone areas:

Go donate money to the DSCC to help take down the Sinning Senator!

LA-Sen: Wanna Be Kennedy Caught Red Handed AGAIN ...

by: ryan

Mon Aug 11, 2008 at 22:14:48 PM CDT

Oh, lord ... Wanna Be's apparently confused again. His campaign put out an email accusing Senator Landrieu of directing her "army of Washington lobbyists and partisan special interests" to buy airtime on Louisiana airwaves to go negative on Wanna Be.

Only a couple of problems with their assertion ... the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is not a lobbying organization nor a special interest. It's the Senate arm of the Democratic Party.

The second problem is more serious. They lied. The Wanna Be's campaign was already caught lying about their fundraising #'s for the last quarter. You'd think they'd learn. Apparently not.

John Kennedy is LYING to Louisiana

by: ryan

Fri Jun 13, 2008 at 08:44:13 AM CDT

Wow. I know that John Kennedy thinks he's probably the smartest politician in the state, but I would hope he respects the people of Louisiana enough to tell them the truth. You know, that traditional American value of honesty? Apparently, John doesn't believe in it, as the Kennedy campaign believes they can pull a fast one on the people of Louisiana.

A Kennedy campaign email alleges:

But not everyone agrees. After legislators stalled on an opportunity to bring transparency and accountability to our broken earmark system, our opponent in Washington - who still refuses to disclose her own earmarks - inexplicably applauded its defeat after telling the Monroe News-Star just days earlier that she disagreed "with anyone who is against earmarks."

There's only one BIG problem with that. Senator Landrieu discloses her earmarks at her official website - http://landrieu.senate.gov/appropriations/index.cfm. Hell, she even breaks them down by parish!

I'm guessing the Kennedy campaign has no clue how to work the internets, or the tubes, which is apparently what technologically illiterate Republicans think they are. Actually, they have a website for their campaign, so I guess they might know how to work the tubes.

They just don't think Louisianans know how to navigate the world wide web.

Speaking of their campaign website, I noticed something very interesting ... the basic format is plagiarized from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee! The screen shots for you to make an informed decision about that below the jump ...

LA-Sen: Steering Kennedy

by: ryan

Thu Apr 10, 2008 at 11:28:58 AM CDT

Hat tip to The Reduct Box.

Don't forget ... April 22nd will have John Kennedy showing his love for George W. Bush and David Vitter. Here's one question for John N. Kennedy:

You ran for re-election to the State Treasurer post last fall saying that the "job was not yet done." Is it done now that you're running for Senate, a mere 5 months later?

LA-Sen: Landrieu Releases Second Video Diary

by: ryan

Fri Apr 04, 2008 at 14:13:06 PM CDT

UPDATE: The DSCC just released a video entitled "Mary Landrieu: Fighter." You can see it below the jump, or in the Media box in the next column.

This morning, Senator Mary Landrieu released her second video diary. I'm glad to see they're going to be keeping this as a regular part of the campaign.
