Cry for Vitter, Louisiana ... as the FEC has shot down Sinator Vitter's request to use his campaign funds to pay down his legal bills stemming from his extra-curricular activities at the DC Madam's brothel. He'll have to pay out $170,000 of his own money to pay it all off.
Governor PBJ hates the gays, and thinks we're all stupid. No, seriously. He will not renew the executive order signed by Governor Blanco that banned discrimination against gay and lesbian employees. He claims that "state and federal law already prohibits discrimination."
Actually, Guv, state and federal law do not prohibit discrimation against gay and lesbian folks. Matter of fact, neither the United States' nor Louisiana's anti-discrimination law includes sexual orientation as a protected class.
As for your concern, Guv, that religious groups will be forced to hire gay and lesbian folks ... that's not true. They're already allowed to hire and fire whomever they want due to the First Amendment. But you knew that. And so does the Louisiana Family Forum, the group whose ass you're kissing by letting the anti-discrimination order lapse. But y'all hate the gays. So that makes it okay apparently.
I just thank the Good Lord that McCain didn't give Governor PBJ the Republican keynote speech. He dropped PBJ for Mr. "A Noun, A Verb, and 9/11."
Apparently our wonderful Sinnator Vitter will be spared the indignity of having to testify in Deborah Jean Palfrey's trial about his ties to her upscale escort service.
Question of the Day to Senatorial candidate John N. Kennedy (R): Do you approve of Sinator Vitter's extracurricular activites? After all, you are using him as a host for your fundraiser on April 22nd, the one that also features President Bush and Governor PBJ.
